I’m sorry for the incoming rant but I just have to let it out.

I just saw a picture circling in facebook and it’s not even a funny picture. It was so awful and heart wrenching. I refuse to re-post such photo. I refuse to put it here on tumblr, because I don’t want to ever again look at it.

I was scanning my facebook timeline when I noticed this one post with a picture – so heartbreaking that right there and then I just started tearing up. It was a close-up shot of a TRASHCAN with a new born BABY inside it, with no clothes on, surrounded by different kind of garbage. I was frozen in my sit for god knows how long. I just stared at that picture with tears flowing freely on my face, I was so heartbroken. It just breaks my heart that a MOTHER could actually do that to her own flesh and blood.

I was like, what the hell are you thinking woman? Are you high or something? Have you lost your mind?  I mean she carried that baby in her womb for 9 full months. She survived the long hours of painful labor and gone through the actual delivery and then after all the hardships that she has gone through she just decided to dump her OWN baby on the nearest trashcan that she could find.

Yes, you may have a hard life or maybe you can’t raise a child on your own but those are not good enough (nothing is) reason for you to dump your child on the street and abandon them.  That girl who dumped her baby in that god forsaken trashcan should be ashamed of herself. I refuse to address that girl as a mother, because a real MOTHER would never think of dumping her child in a trashcan and leave him/her there to die of hunger and hypothermia.

Maybe I’m taking this way too hard but can you blame me? We are talking about babies here. They are real and fully grown live babies. Of course, I’ll take this issue as hard as I can, not just because I love babies but because I’m a nurse. Every single day I went to work to care for different kind of people, be it an adult, a child or a new born baby.  I’ve seen hundredths of mother gave birth. My profession is all about caring and helping each patient we had.  I’m an advocate of life, so yes; it’s hard for me to accept that a life was wasted. That he/she was not given a chance to experience life to the fullest.
